Ramzi’s story.

For generations, the Palestinian people endured occupation, massacres, and oppression, while the nations of Earth turned their backs, and powerful allies armed their brutal oppressor.

Abandoned by the world, they turn to the stars. And as so often in the history of Palestine, the fate of an entire people falls upon the shoulders of a child. His name is Ramzi.

Armed with nothing but courage, ingenuity, and the hopes of his people, he embarks alone on a desperate voyage across the unknown ocean of space. His mission: to find help, a home, hope.

His people call him Starjumper. This is his quest.

Bounce, boost and climb 50,000 meters.

Hi, I’m Paulo. I’m building Ramzi’s world, and this is the first little piece you can play. It’s a free browser demo that starts at the bottom of a gorge. Your job is to help him find a way out.

His spring boots keep him bouncing. You steer, choose where to land and use a battery-powered boost when things go wrong. The plants and alien creatures can be your friends or your demise. Some help you climb. Others send you a very long way down.

It’s still a work in progress. I’d love to hear what you think.

How to play.

  • ← / → or A / D: steer. Ramzi jumps automatically.
  • Space: boost. Each boost uses one battery; carry up to three.
  • ↓ or S: stomp.
  • Collect health packs and life-support supplies. Camps are your checkpoints, and your journey saves in this browser.

A glimpse beyond the gorge.

I’m still building Ramzi’s world, thinking about the adventures he could have and how the gameplay could evolve. But I’m hooked on this idea: a young Palestinian space traveler looking for a new home for his people, in an old DIY spacecraft. Ideas are welcome!

Give it a go.

Please play the game and let me know what you think. Add it to your collection to keep it handy as I build more, and drop me a comment below. What did you enjoy? What needs work? I’d love to hear from you.

Version history.

Build 1.98 · October 12, 2026

Worked on the stuttering around the crash site. The rocks now take less work to draw, with the same shapes and colors. Cut repeated scene updates too. The artwork, controls and difficulty are unchanged.

Build 1.97 · October 11, 2026

The climb has a few more surprises now.

  • The pace picks up after 5,000 meters and reaches three times the opening speed by 45,000 meters.
  • New 20–30 second runs alternate between winged-creature swarms and speed bursts. You get a warning, then a breather afterward.
  • Taking a hit still gives you time to recover, even when the game speeds up.

Build 1.96 · October 10, 2026

The first playable demo on itch.io: five alien ecosystems, a 50,000-meter climb, spring boots, boosts and checkpoint camps.
